A message from Surrey & Sussex Police: 

Dear Parish Council 

I am a Fraud Prevention Volunteer working with 

Sussex Police and I’m getting in touch to 

offer a free, informal input for your members or 

any local groups that you know about, on 

staying safe from online, telephone and doorstep scams. 

​

Fraudsters are increasingly targeting residents, 

and many scams now start with a simple 

phone call, email, text message or unexpected 

knock at the door. The sessions we offer 

explain how these scams work, how to spot the 

warning signs, and the simple steps 

people can take to protect themselves and their 

finances.

A message from the High Weald Walking Festival 

The Festival is back from 12–20 September, with 80 free walks taking place across the stunning High Weald landscape.

 

There are walks for all ages, interests and abilities – from history and archaeology to nature and wellbeing, walks from railway stations and everything from gentle strolls to more challenging hikes. All walks are completely free, although some guided walks need to be booked in advance.
