A message from East Sussex Highways: We will soon be carrying out site investigations on B2082 Iden Road.

These works will be carried out on Monday 10 - 15 August 2026, with possible delays between 7pm – 5am.

A message from East Sussex County Council Bus Team: Children under 16 can travel for free on buses throughout East Sussex and the UK this August.

 

As part of the UK Government’s Great British Summer Savings campaign, children aged 5-15 who would usually pay a fare are able to explore the countryside, meet up with friends, visit the library and more without having to pay a fare to travel by bus.

 

As well as many timetabled services, this offer is also available on our demand responsive service, Flexibus. For timetabled services, just ask the driver for a free child ticket. You still need to book for Flexibus and under 11s must be accompanied by a person aged 16 or above as usual and the Fair Use Policy still applies. Operators will have their own terms and conditions that apply.

 

It is hoped that this offer ensures young people are not stuck on screens over the summer and helps families to take a break together.

 

Some operators are funding this fare offer through their own resources rather than the national government scheme.
